The overall purpose of the job is to provide expert advice, oversight and support for all of the Site Microbiologists in the laboratory, to align process and testing practices, share learnings from issues and best practices and to ensure all micro risk is managed in the region.

Responsibilities :

* Take the lead role in protecting the region from microbiological contamination in our products
* Provide support and guidance to all Site Microbiologists to ensure that all factories in the region meet all micro requirements described in Global Manufacturing Quality Manual and local quality system/procedures
* Work with all Site Microbiologists in region to ensure that positive release and Ship without Hold are managed correctly.
* Ensure all best practices and identified improvements are shared between all sites.
* Provide expert support in micro contamination situations.
* Benchmark practices and learnings with other RB Regional Microbiology Coordinators
* Coordinate cross-site micro and hygiene improvement audits, ensure at least one per year is conducted for each micro risk site. These are in addition to the internal micro audits carried out by each Site Microbiologist in their own site
* Report micro risk and identified gaps to the Regional Quality Director with recommendations on actions to reduce risk
* Ensure all micro training plans are adequate for each site and that training modules are robust and standardised across region.
* Identify and evaluate potential opportunities to improve test methods, working with R&D
* Work directly with Site Microbiologists to ensure all micro testing is adequate in relation to the risk of micro contamination for the individual products.

Profile :

o University Degree in Microbiology or close equivalent
o Minimum 3 years experience in a micro-sensitive manufacturing environment
o Proficient in English – verbal and written
o Trouble shooting of micro issues and experience of process improvement in a manufacturing environment
o Experienced at carrying out micro audits across a factory (including labs)
o Wide experience in test methods and experience in evaluating potential test methods to suit our products and needs.
o Knowledge of Quality techniques and Quality management in a FMCG, Pharma, Food & Beverages environment
o Convincing communicator with ability to influence at Factory Management level
o Ability to make decisions and stick to beliefs under pressure
o Strong on prevention, initiative-taker
o Pragmatic rather than theoretical
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation plans

· Strong computer literacy skills, with a working knowledge of mining software such as Surpac, Datamine or MicroMine.
